Ezekiel 48
A precise definition of the boundaries of Israel would be impossible if we had not previously determined the exact location of the future Messianic Temple in accordance with the prophecy of Ezekiel. The place where the Temple is located is the center of a rectangle 28.8 km wide and 72 km long. The northern boundary of this rectangle specifies the location of the entire northern boundary of the holy allotment. The southern boundary of this rectangle specifies the location of the entire southern boundary of the holy allotment. Thus, we get two straight lines between the eastern and western borders of Israel. Hereditary lands for the 12 tribes of Israel must be measured above and below these two lines. We must proceed from the simple idea that every tribe of Israel must receive its share of the common inheritance on a par with other tribes. The tribe of Levi does not have his hereditary share of land holdings, the Levites can not sell their plots of land, but in the prophesy of Ezekiel the exact boundaries of the land for their residence are determined. We know that the descendants of Aaron, the priests (Kohanim), are part of the tribe of Levi. Therefore, the full size of the land plot provided for the Levi tribe should be calculated as the sum of the land plot of the Levites and the Lord's land plot administered by the priests (Kohanim). The dimensions of each of these two plots are the same: a length of 72 km and a width of 28.8 km. However, we can not calculate the area of land on these land plots by simply multiplying the length and width, we must take into account the curvature of the earth's surface. The approximate size of the land plot provided for the residence of the Levi tribe (Levites and priests) is 4151 km ² (I used Google Earth Pro for these measurements, you can read more here and here). According to my calculations, the territory of Israel in accordance with the prophecy of Ezekiel must be 57,456 km² . However, I would not advise the government of Israel to establish its control over all this territory until the time when we will build the Third Temple. |
